    It is more efficient he said meaning its a ratio. The energy used per square inch of TV is more efficient than the energy used for square inch of a 40 inch tv.

    OLED tvs use less energy for the same size TV and it has higher clarity. Not to mention it is thinner. The only downside I can see is that the lifetime of such TVs are much less than that of a standard plasma or LCD.

    thats odd…samsung tv’s are horrible…i found 3 dead pixels on my sis’s new samsung lcd tv….but i think samsung has better and more vibrant. resolution……but sony is not bad….

    I believe DuPont …
    I believe DuPont developed an OLED color compound that lasts for over 100 years of continuous use, so I’m not too worried about lifespan by the time OLED TVs are mass-produced.

    You are absolutely right regarding technology, early colour tvs apparently were endlessly breaking down and catching fire!! earning the nick name curtain burners by tv repair men so this is nothing new! the question is how do you get around such a seemingly insoluble problem as the short lifespan of the organic materials, part of it is I am so very disappointed and was initially really so exited about oled, I hope in the long term you are right!

    This is how new technology emerges. As demand increases, the displays will get better and better… and cheaper.

    Not too long ago, LCDs had a short lifespan as well.

    I was really looking forward to seeing this technology being rolled out until I found out about the one major flaw THE ABSOLUTLEY TERRIBLE LIFESPAN!! especially the blue oled’s, some people have bought than and they have died after only 6 mounths of use, this tells me that the technology is not only overpriced for something thats apparently cheaper to manufacture but is blatantly flawed, this sounds too good to be true and it well is!! its like the tv version of the 360s red ring of death!

    they use a lot less power. they don’t a backlight and they are very thin. it can also have a higher contrast ratio.

    if you’re judging this based on this video alone, then you’re not very smart
