What exactly a difference between LED LCD TVs & LCD TVs?
I am hammering all yahoo answer users with LED and LCD Tv, please help me to make any decision?
LED TV are LCD TV that uses LED backlighting rather than fluorescent lights which is used in LCD televisions.
- greater dynamic contrast images can be achieved compared to LCD.
-with Edge-LED lighting they are extremely slim.
-RGB-LED offers wider color gamut
- But yes LED TVs cost are higher.

LED means light emitting diode.
LCD means liquid crystal diode.

Do a quick search. That question has been answered here many times.
Briefly, BOTH are LCD TVs. LCD TVs are lit from behind; some of them use LEDs as the light source. Depending on who you talk to, this might be a plus… Most LED lit LCDs are edge lit and don’t actually offer any picture improvement.

LED TVs are still LCD (liquid cristal DISPLAYS). But instead of being lit by small tubes at the back like standard LCDs they are lit by individual LEDs. These can either be at the back (backlit) or at the side(side lit). The main advantages of the LED LCDs over the LCDs are brighter and stronger colours.

LED come with mega dynamic contrast ratio, better picture quality,deeper black, thinner set and 40% less power consumption than LCD but LED is more expansive.

personally, i think edge lighting is the worst way to go in that area. backlit/full array/matrix lighting ftw
