Is it worth paying £500 more for an led tv?
I can get a sony lcd tv for £800 and the EXACT same edge lit led verion is £1300
Is it worth paying the extra £500
T
LED LCD TVs do provide better contrast (better blacks), but extra £500, no it is not worth it.
If you want better contrast, buy a Panasonic Plasma.
Sony LCD TV or LED TV?
I do know the difference between the two (backlighting)
Sony kdl-46w5810 vs sony kdl-46ex703
The LCD is £800 and the (edge lit) LED is £1300
They are the exact same in every way except from the backlighting (im not bothered about thickness)
is it worth paying £500 for LED backlighting ??? (ps it will save about £100 in electricity bills over 10 years)?
Thanks
Sony use to be a good brand on tvs. In the last several years they have fallen in the quality and reliability. There customer service support center are not very helpful when you do need assistance. Panasonic is the top brand in quality and reliability along with the best customer service support center. Panasonic is also producing LCD tvs now. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs. You will notice that they have a tv recommended in each price category of entry level to the high end. While no other manufacturer can claim. If you read yahoo questions, you will also notice that 95% of tv problems come from LCD/LED tvs and 95% of those are from off brands. You are the one going to be using the tv, get what appeals to you and your eyes. Hope this will help you out
which LED and LCD tv is better…Samsung’s or Sony’s?

is this led tv worth buying?
I can get a sony lcd tv for £1000 but i can also get the exact same which is led backlit for £200 more
Is the led one worth the extra money?
Chee
there has been a lot of hype and confusion surrounding the introduction of "LED" Televisions. Even many marketing representatives and sales professionals that should know better are falsely explaining what an LED Television is to their prospective customers.
LED TVs are still LCD TVs. It is just that these new sets use LED backlights rather than the fluorescent-type backlights used in most other LCD TVs.
but all this is secondary. what we as buyers care about is the performance. rite? let me tell u that LED tv is really worth those £200(or more). if u r a soccer fan, or any any other sport freak U GOT IT! it is amazing to watch those matches on LED screens SERIOUSLY. besides this all other things like REALITY shows, movies n what not? LED screens ofcourse have something in them that makes them different from other tvs.
so i would suggest that dont give it a second thought. if u are spending ur money, why not spend a little more n buy the BEST?
which HDTV is better between sony 32ex500 and samsung UA32B6000VR ?
Im planning to buy a HDTV. I have two models in mind.
sony 32EX700 and samsung UA32B6000VR. Well the samsung model is a LED TV and I am not sure whether sony is LED or is it just using a prototype of LED?
Could somebody share your thoughts?
These two sets don’t appear to be compatible. The Sony looks like a North American model with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and the Samsung has the European standard 100 Hz rate. Which one would work for you depends on where you are.
The Sony is an edge-lit LED set.
