Please!..How do i get the best from my New LCD TV ?
Hi everyone!…I’ve recently purchased a Panasonic (viera) 26 inch LCD… The picture via my cheap (£40)sony DVD player is excellent, but the picture via Aerial is poor (very Grainy),is there anything i can do to improve this?..the picture on my Sony CRT (30 inch) is very good via Aerial?..I’m baffled by this!..My area (Rhondda South Wales) does not have Digital TV yet!…i haven’t got "Sky",Do you think it’s because the TV is built with Digital in mind?.i’ve tried doing a search but have hit a brick wall!.. May i point out that i am aware of using quality leads to improve Quality of picture/sound ,Thanks for reading this lenthy explanation,.coco
Thanks all for your best efforts!.but i got the answer from www.cnet.co.uk. the answer to my question is below if you are interested,All the Best, coco.
You’ve just asked the question that’s on the mind of everyone looking to buy a new television. There are a couple of issues here, so we’ll address them separately.
The first and most important point is that our existing broadcast infrastructure isn’t set up for high-definition television. Both LCD and plasma screens use a video display system called ‘progressive scan’. This differs from standard-definition television, which uses ‘interlacing’.
Because CRT televisions all use interlacing to display their image, and the transmissions are set up to take advantage of this, everything broadcast uses interlaced video. This creates problems for the televisions that use the more modern progressive system.
Interlacing is a way to compress a TV signal so it’s easier and less expensive to transmit. With an interlaced signal, instea
In my opinion public are being taken in by salespeople who we turn for advice. They do not outright say that the picture in the showroom is not what we will get at home. They let us assume that whats we will get. They forget! to mention what else we need( HD boxes etc) to get the same reception.
I bought Samsung 37 " LCD and have Virgin Media cable.
BIG MISTAKE!!. Its not samsung, its the 37" size and HD Ready and the price.
By the way I bought it just 5 weeks ago from J ewis. I am one week late and cannot return it for 32" one
Is there any way pr pretext I can ask J Lewis for reurn
Would appreciate
Questions about OLED?
What year will OLED displays hit the market?
Samsung has an OLED TV, when is that coming out?
Depends on how much you want to spend and how big you want it to be. You are probably looking at minimum 3 years before the small consumer level sets come out but they will be probably in the range of 4 to 5 times the price of a comprable lcd set and in a larger home theater size you are looking at probably closer to a decade before they reach the level of proliferation and price that current lcd and plasma tvs are at today.
